The Evolving Atheist

Today I ran across a new term and was interested to see if any of you have heard of this - Antitheism

Here's my understanding of the terms:

Atheist - a persion who rejects the idea of God, or belief in a God
Antitheist - a person who is in direct opposition of those who believe in God
Agnostic - a person who does not believe we can know for sure if God exists, or if we can know him, to some degrees a skeptic.

Check out the wiki here for a more in depth description. Evidently this term was created by a group of evangelical atheists (interesting name don't you think?) that came about the same time as Richard Dawkins book The God Delusion.

Coincidentally, I was reading A.W. Tozer this week and he talked about that even as followers of Christ we live in the 'atheistic now' - We believe what God HAS done and what God WILL do, but we often forget that God is also present in the NOW of our lives. We often create a vacuum in our day to day tasks, neglect the Holy, and even go so far as to be unaware of His presence.

What do you think?

May you experience today the breath-taking reality of God not just in your past and future, but in your now.

Peace to you my friends,
